EXPERIENCE

Program Manager Sep 2021 - Dec 2023

Kasa, Plano

Remote and on-site management of new infrastructure design and installation for large scale manufacturing customers. These projects involved managing multi vendor teams, issue management, risk management, and leading corrective action decisions.

Led remote daily stand ups with project team to track short term tasks. Led remote requirement gathering meetings with customer to develop SOW. Led weekly remote project status meetings with project team and customer to track progress, potential risk and risk mitigation, and track current budget versus the forecast.

Project Manager Mar 2014 - Oct 2019

Ford, Dearborn, MI

Project Manager for an IT group within a manufacturing environment. This role included the creation of project timelines, milestones and KPIs. I wrote and submitted for approval the initial budget, Scope Of Work, obtained competitive quotes for capital equipment and created the metrics and processes for which projects will be tracked and reviewed.

The work involved supervision of direct and contract resources. I also interfaced with multiple departments with in the customers company to ensure design decisions complied with their standards, or create deviation proposals for approval. I led meetings with the customer to coordinate timing and resource management, to approve and track any change requests, to perform risk analysis and mitigation. I led internal meeting to track our project costs throughout the project and presented monthly budget reviews and project status reports to upper management.

Sr. Engineer Aug 2007 - Mar 2014

General Motors, Warren, MI

In this role I managed projects to recover capital assets and plan for reuse of robotic equipment from locations that were being closed. This included running meetings with all the managers to determine their capital equipment needs and creating proposals for distribution recovered equipment. For refurbishment I obtained competitive quotes, tracked budget and timing, and led periodic review meetings to track availability of assets and to prioritize projects to determine distribution order.

Business Manager Jun 2005 - Aug 2007

General Motors, Warren, MI

Within a division that included 8 managers my role was to coordinate between the managers issues relating to overall division budget, current manpower and short and long term forecasting. This involved tracking all the budgets of each manager, performing risk analysis and mitigation of any issues, providing multiple scenario budget and manpower forecast for potential future projects, and also including capital equipment budgeting and delivery forecasting. I led meeting to present short term project health, identification of risks, and long term proposals for projects based on projected budgets and manpower.

Controls Engineer

General Motors, Warren, MI Mar 1999 – June 2005

As a controls engineer I designed and installed controls systems for automotive assembly plants. At points this included doing all the work myself, and at other points I managed contract employees to perform all the tasks. The type of systems I designed were: Power Distribution, Operator Safety Circuits (hardware and safety PLC), pneumatic power and pneumatic controls, hydraulic power, sensor and communication networks, robot and other hardware interlocks. Various types of automation lines that I have experience with are: robotic spot welding applications, robotic dispense applications, conveyor lines with Allen Bradley motor controllers, robotic based vision systems, operator load stations with robotic interface, operator inspection stations. Most of my projects have been full lifecycle. I started with gathering requirements from the customer and from the mechanical designers, I then designed the entire control system package, then got competitive quotes for the panels. During the installation process I was on site to manage the build and ensure all installation standards were being met. On power up I began the installation of the software, configuration of all networks and debug of the system. On the safety side, I worked with plant and corporate safety to obtain buyoff, and on the operational side I worked with plant trades and engineers to get the system to line speed and obtain plant buyoff. After the system was running I created a training package for the trades and operators, and ran classes to teach them the operation of the system and how to handle any issues.

I have extensive experience with the following platforms: Allen-Bradley PLCs (PLC-5, SLC, ControlLogix, GuardLogix), ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Allen-Bradley PanelView and Siemens Simatic HMI’s, AutoCad, Allen-Bradley ArmorStart.
